October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I posted about it last year and of course, again this year. It's important that everyone is aware, not just in October but every day all year. It's important to check yourself or get checked, to know what's normal and what is not. Breast Cancer can strike any age, any race and at any time. Having had someone in the family diagnosed with breast cancer, I am much more aware of the efforts to support the cause.

Needless to say, after my aunts passing in June, I really got into thinking pink and the whole breast cancer awareness. If you follow me on pintrest or facebook, I am sure you noticed my daily posts of pictures and other things that had to do with breast cancer awareness.
I tired to buy everything pink, support everything pink, I even dreamt pink.
I also streaked my hair pink, permanently. Don't mind all my fly away hairs, I had just dried it so it's crazy. I knew I wanted some pink but I didn't want clip ins, I wanted something to last. I called up one of my friends and we got to work. She did an awesome job and my pink is still as bright as it was the day she put in it. Meaning, it's not fading, I may have pink hair until Christmas.
I am not cool enough to have instagram on my phone, well because I don't have an Iphone. But my phone does have a knock off that I am okay with. I wore pink pretty much every day in October, whether it was a shirt, my bracelets, ribbon, my nails or my hair. I had pink on. I used pink from my water bottle to food I made. I even ran a dinky little 5k for pink (next post). If you want to support, search the web, there are so many companies, even ones you will like, who participate and donate proceeds for the cause.
Although efforts like this seem small, they make an impact. I was surprised to see how many people repined things I had, how many people showed up at the race, both women and men, how many people wore pink in October, whether on purpose or by coincidence. More people are becoming aware and more people are supporting. We support for those who are fighting, those who have survived and those we have lost.
